How to Fix Crepey Skin in Seoul: Doctor-Led Options
Crepey skin is thin, finely wrinkled skin that looks like crepe paper, often under the eyes, on the neck or on the arms. Our physicians rebuild thickness with collagen boosters and tighten with radiofrequency where needed.

What causes crepey skin?
Crepey skin is thin, finely crinkled skin that looks like crepe paper, caused mainly by loss of collagen and elastin with age and sun damage. It usually improves gradually with collagen-stimulating boosters and radiofrequency tightening over 3–6 months.
Crepey skin is a sign of thinning. The dermis, the layer that gives skin body, loses collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid over time. Sun exposure breaks these fibres down faster, which is why crepey texture often appears first on the under-eyes, neck, chest and inner arms, where skin is naturally thin or often exposed.
Weight change, dehydration, smoking and some medicines (such as long-term steroids) add to the thinning. Unlike deep wrinkles, crepey skin is a quality problem across a whole area, so treatment aims to thicken and firm the skin rather than fill a single line: collagen boosters rebuild the dermis, and radiofrequency heat tightens existing collagen and starts new growth.
Signs these treatments can help
- Thin, crinkly skin under the eyes
- Fine, papery lines across the neck or chest
- Skin that wrinkles like tissue when gently pushed
- Crepey texture after weight loss
When to see a specialist first
- Easy bruising or skin tearing, or long-term steroid use, which needs a medical check first
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding, when injectables are usually postponed
- Sudden thinning or skin changes with other symptoms, which should be checked by a dermatologist or your doctor
Why skin turns crepey
Collagen and elastin loss
The dermis thins with age and loses its spring.
Sun damage
UV breaks down collagen, especially on the neck, chest and arms.
Weight change
Stretched skin can become thin and crinkly after weight loss.
Dehydration and lifestyle
Dry skin, smoking and some medicines speed up thinning.

How we treat crepey skin at our clinic
- Doctor assessment. We check skin thickness, the areas involved and any medical causes of thinning.
- Collagen booster. Elravie Re2O, Re2O Fine for the eyes, or Juvelook Skin rebuild the dermis.
- Tightening. Thermage FLX firms crepey skin on the face, eyes and neck where suitable.
- Neck care. Crepey neck lines may be treated with a dedicated neck wrinkle programme.
- Course and review. Most booster plans run 3 sessions about 4 weeks apart, with review after each.
Aftercare
- Avoid rubbing treated areas for a day
- Use sunscreen on the face, neck and chest every day
- Moisturise daily
- Skip saunas for 2–3 days
Possible side effects
Small bumps, redness and bruising are common after boosters and settle within days. Thermage can cause short-lived redness or tenderness. Crepey skin improves gradually rather than disappearing.
