How to Fix Neck Wrinkles in Seoul: Non-Surgical Options
Neck lines come from thin skin, constant bending and sun damage, and they often show earlier than facial wrinkles. Our physicians treat the creases directly, then firm the skin around them so the neck matches a refreshed face.

What causes neck wrinkles?
Neck wrinkles are caused by thin, collagen-poor skin, repeated bending of the neck, sun damage and loosening of the platysma muscle. Horizontal lines usually respond best to injections placed into the creases, combined with skin tightening such as Thermage or Ultherapy for laxity.
Neck skin is thinner than facial skin and has fewer oil glands, so it loses moisture and collagen faster. Every time you look down at a phone or laptop, the same horizontal bands fold. Over years the folds become fixed lines, sometimes called a 'tech neck', and they can appear even in people in their twenties.
With age the platysma, the thin muscle sheet of the front neck, loosens and may form vertical bands, while skin under the chin becomes lax. Sun exposure adds crepey texture because the neck is often missed with sunscreen. A good plan treats the lines, the skin quality and any looseness separately.
Signs these treatments can help
- Horizontal 'necklace' lines that stay when you look straight ahead
- Crepey or dry texture on the front of the neck
- Mild looseness under the chin
- Neck skin that looks older than your face
When to see a specialist first
- A new lump, swelling or enlarged gland in the neck: see your doctor before any cosmetic treatment
- Very loose skin with heavy bands, where a surgical neck lift may suit better
- Pregnancy, active skin infection or a rash on the neck
Four reasons neck lines form
Thin skin
Neck skin has less collagen and oil, so it creases and dries easily.
Repeated bending
Looking down at screens folds the same lines thousands of times.
Sun damage
Unprotected UV breaks down collagen and leaves crepey texture.
Looser platysma
The neck muscle loosens with age and can form vertical bands.

How we treat neck wrinkles at our clinic
- Neck assessment. The doctor checks line depth, skin quality and any looseness or bands.
- Plan. Injections for the creases, with tightening added if the skin is lax.
- Numbing. Numbing cream is applied to the front of the neck.
- Treatment. Fine injections along each line, or device treatment of the neck and under-chin.
- Repeat and review. Injection programmes are usually 3 sessions; we check progress with photos.
What to expect
- Small bumps along the lines usually settle in 1–3 days
- Avoid saunas and heavy exercise for a day
- Apply sunscreen to the neck every day
- Results build gradually over the sessions
Possible side effects
Injections can cause small bumps, redness or bruising for a few days. Thermage and Ultherapy may cause temporary redness or tenderness. Deep, long-standing lines usually soften rather than disappear completely.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best treatment for neck lines?
For horizontal lines, injections placed into the creases usually give the most visible change. If the skin is also loose or crepey, the doctor may add Thermage or Ultherapy.
How much does neck wrinkle treatment cost?
Our neck wrinkle package is ₩900,000 for 3 sessions, excluding VAT. Device tightening is priced separately.
How many sessions do I need?
Most patients follow a 3-session programme. Deep lines may need maintenance afterwards.
Can I do it during a short stay in Seoul?
One session fits a short visit, but a full programme needs repeat visits. Tell us your dates and we will suggest a realistic plan.
Can Botox help the neck?
Botox can soften vertical platysmal bands in suitable patients. It does little for horizontal lines on its own, which respond better to injections into the crease.
How do I stop neck lines getting worse?
Raise your screen to eye level, moisturise and use sunscreen on the neck every day.
