What is frown line Botox?
Frown line Botox is a botulinum toxin injection into the small muscles between the eyebrows that pull the skin into vertical 11 lines. It takes about 10 minutes, starts working in 3–7 days, and usually lasts 3–4 months.
Two muscle groups create frown lines: the corrugators, which pull the brows together, and the procerus, which pulls the area between the brows down. Concentrating, squinting in bright light and habitual frowning all fold the skin in the same place, and the lines slowly become permanent. Botox relaxes these muscles so the skin is no longer creased several thousand times a day.
Treating frown lines early often prevents them from deepening. When lines are already etched at rest, Botox stops them getting worse and usually softens them over a few months, but a skin booster or, with great care, a small amount of soft filler may be added. The glabella is a delicate area for filler, so we only suggest it when the benefit is clear.

- Doctor consultation. We watch you frown and relax to see how strong each muscle is.
- Marking. Injection points are marked to keep both sides even.
- Numbing. Ice or numbing cream; most people feel only brief pinpricks.
- Injections. Usually 3–5 small injections, taking only a few minutes.
- Back to your day. Small bumps settle in about 30 minutes.
Aftercare
- Stay upright and do not rub the area for about 4 hours
- Skip saunas, hard exercise and alcohol on the day
- Avoid tight hats or headbands pressing on the area that day
- Message us at 2 weeks if one side still moves
Possible side effects
Pinpoint bruising, mild swelling and a short headache are the most common. Uncommonly, the toxin can spread and cause a temporary drooping eyelid or heavy brow, which usually improves within weeks.
