How to Fix Sunken Cheeks in Seoul: Non-Surgical Options
Sunken cheeks make the face look tired, older or unwell. Our physicians restore cheek volume gradually with collagen-stimulating injectables or filler, and avoid treatments that reduce fat where you need it.

What causes sunken cheeks?
Sunken cheeks are caused by loss of facial fat and bone with age, weight loss, low body fat, genetics or intense endurance exercise, and sometimes illness. Collagen-stimulating injectables such as Juvelook Volume or Sculptra, or hyaluronic acid filler, can restore volume without surgery.
The cheeks are supported by several fat pads and the cheekbone. With age the deep fat pads shrink and the bone slowly loses volume, so the area under the cheekbone becomes hollow. Rapid weight loss, very low body fat or endurance training can create the same look even in younger people.
Restoring volume works best when it is gradual and placed where the face lost it. Collagen stimulators rebuild volume over weeks for a natural change; filler shows the result immediately. Fat-reducing treatments such as ONDA are usually avoided in a face that is already hollow.
Signs these treatments can help
- Hollows under the cheekbones that cast shadows
- A tired or gaunt look in photos
- Cheek volume lost after weight loss
- You want fuller cheeks that still look natural
When to see a specialist first
- Unexplained weight loss or a recent illness: see your doctor to find the cause first
- Hollowing on one side only, or with pain or numbness: seek medical advice
- Pregnancy, active infection or planned dental surgery
Four reasons cheeks become sunken
Fat pad loss
Deep cheek fat shrinks with age and leaves a hollow.
Bone remodelling
The cheekbone and upper jaw lose volume over time.
Weight loss
Losing weight quickly often shows in the face first.
Low body fat and genetics
Some people naturally have a lean, hollow face.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best treatment for sunken cheeks?
Many patients choose Juvelook Volume or Sculptra for gradual, natural volume. Filler suits those who want an immediate change.
How much does it cost?
Juvelook Volume is ₩130,000 per 1cc on a first visit and ₩550,000 for full face 6cc, excluding VAT. Filler and Sculptra are priced after consultation.
How long do results last?
Collagen stimulators often last around 1–2 years after a full course; filler typically 12 months or more in the cheeks.
Should I avoid lifting treatments?
Fat-reducing devices are usually avoided in a hollow face. Skin tightening can still help once volume is restored.
Can I do this on a short trip?
Yes for one session. A full collagen course is spread over visits, but we can plan around your travel dates.
