How to Fix Nasolabial Folds in Seoul: Non-Surgical Options
Nasolabial folds, the smile lines from nose to mouth, deepen when the mid-face loses volume and drops. Our physicians treat the cause, lifting and supporting the cheek, rather than only filling the line itself.

What causes nasolabial folds?
Nasolabial folds deepen when the cheek loses volume and slides down, collagen thins and repeated smiling creases the skin. Hyaluronic acid filler, collagen boosters such as Juvelook, thread lifting or mid-face lifting can soften them, often in one visit.
Everyone has a nasolabial fold; it is where the cheek meets the upper lip. It becomes noticeable when the mid-face fat pad flattens and descends, so more tissue sits on top of the fold. Bone loss around the nose and upper jaw takes away support underneath, and thinning skin creases more easily with every smile.
Because the fold is mostly a result of what happens above it, filling only the line can look heavy. A natural plan often restores or lifts the cheek first, then softens the remaining crease with a small amount of filler or a collagen-stimulating booster.
Signs these treatments can help
- Smile lines that stay visible when your face is relaxed
- Cheeks that look flatter or lower than before
- Shadows from nose to mouth that make you look tired
- You prefer a subtle result over a filled look
When to see a specialist first
- Previous filler that looks lumpy or migrated: we may suggest dissolving it first
- Active cold sores, infection or dental work planned in the area
- Very deep folds with heavy sagging, where surgery may give a better result
Four reasons smile lines deepen
Mid-face volume loss
The cheek fat pad flattens and sits lower over the fold.
Tissue descent
Loosening support layers let the cheek slide towards the mouth.
Bone loss
Less bone around the nose and upper jaw leaves a deeper groove.
Thinning skin
Lower collagen means the crease from smiling stays longer.

How we treat nasolabial folds at our clinic
- Face assessment. The doctor looks at the cheek, bone support and skin, at rest and smiling.
- Plan. Cheek support or lifting first, then the crease itself if needed.
- Numbing. Numbing cream; most fillers also contain local anaesthetic.
- Treatment. Filler, Juvelook or threads placed by your physician.
- Check. We review the result before you leave and on Instagram afterwards.
What to expect
- Mild swelling for 1–3 days
- Avoid massage, saunas and alcohol for a few days
- Threads may feel tight for 1–2 weeks
- Juvelook results build over several weeks
Possible side effects
Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common and short-lived. Rare filler risks include lumps, infection and, very rarely, blocked blood vessels, which is why injections are done only by our physicians. Threads may cause temporary dimpling.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best treatment for nasolabial folds?
It depends on the cause. If the cheek has lost volume, support there plus a little filler works well; if the cheek has dropped, threads or ultrasound lifting may help more.
How much does it cost?
Jamber threads start from ₩650,000 and Juvelook Volume from ₩130,000 per 1cc on a first visit, excluding VAT. Filler is priced after consultation.
How long do results last?
Hyaluronic acid filler typically lasts 6–12 months in this area, and threads often 12–18 months. Collagen boosters last longer once the course is complete.
Will filler make my face look puffy?
Not when the amount is right. We prefer supporting the cheek and using conservative volumes in the fold.
Can I fly home right after treatment?
Yes. Most patients can fly the next day; swelling may be noticeable for a few days.
