How to Fix Droopy Eyelids in Seoul: Doctor-Led Options
Heavy upper lids can make the eyes look tired and smaller. Our physicians check whether a low brow, loose lid skin or a weak eyelid muscle is the cause, offer non-surgical lifting where it fits, and refer you to a specialist when surgery is needed.

What causes droopy eyelids?
Droopy eyelids are upper lids that look heavy or hooded, caused by a descending brow, loose eyelid skin, or a weakened eyelid-lifting muscle (ptosis). Mild skin laxity and brow descent often improve with non-surgical lifting; true ptosis or lids that block vision need an eye specialist or surgeon.
Three different problems can look like a 'droopy eyelid'. The brow can sink with age and push skin down onto the lid. The lid skin itself can stretch and fold over the lash line (dermatochalasis). Or the muscle that opens the eye can weaken or detach, so the lid margin sits too low (ptosis), which is common with age and long-term contact lens use.
Non-surgical treatments work on the first two: lifting devices and toxin raise the brow slightly, and tightening treatments firm thin lid skin. They cannot repair a weak lifting muscle or remove a large amount of excess skin. That is why we check carefully which cause you have before suggesting treatment, and refer you when surgery is the honest answer.
Signs these treatments can help
- Mild hooding of the upper lids that makes the eyes look tired
- A brow that has dropped slightly with age
- Thin, crepey skin on the upper lids
- You want a fresher eye area without surgery
When to see a specialist first
- Sudden drooping of one eyelid, especially with double vision, headache or facial weakness: seek urgent medical care, as it can be a nerve or neurological problem
- Lids that cover the pupil or limit your field of vision, which usually need an ophthalmologist or oculoplastic surgeon
- A lid that sits low on its own (true ptosis), or droop that worsens through the day, which needs a specialist assessment
Why eyelids droop
Brow descent
A lower brow pushes skin down onto the upper lid.
Loose lid skin
Thin lid skin stretches and folds over the lash line.
Weak lifting muscle (ptosis)
The muscle that opens the eye weakens or stretches.
Volume and fat changes
Fat loss or bulging around the eye changes the lid shape.

How we treat droopy eyelids at our clinic
- Eye assessment. The doctor checks brow position, lid skin, lid margin height and eye opening.
- Honest triage. True ptosis or vision-blocking lids are referred to an eye specialist or surgeon.
- Lift the brow. Ultherapy Prime or toxin gives a subtle brow lift where suitable.
- Firm the lid skin. Eye Thermage, Velluti Eye or Re2O Fine tighten and thicken thin eyelid skin.
- Review. Results build over weeks to months; we review and follow up on Instagram.
Aftercare
- Avoid rubbing the eyes for a day
- Skip saunas and eye make-up for 24 hours after injections
- Use sunscreen and sunglasses outdoors
- Tell us about vision changes or eye pain straight away
Possible side effects
Temporary redness, mild swelling around the eyes and occasional bruising can occur. Toxin can rarely make a lid feel heavier for a few weeks. Non-surgical treatment gives a subtle lift and cannot correct true ptosis.
