What is a non-surgical lip lift?
A non-surgical lip lift uses small amounts of filler and Botox to turn the upper lip slightly outward, define its border and lift the corners, so the space under the nose looks shorter. It does not physically shorten the philtrum, which only surgery can do, but it can give a visible lift with little downtime.
With age, the upper lip lengthens and thins, and less of the pink lip shows. Filler placed along the border and in the philtrum columns adds structure and gently rolls the lip outward. A few units of Botox into the muscle around the mouth, often called a lip flip, relax it so more of the lip shows when you smile. Supporting the corners can turn a downturned mouth into a more neutral shape.
The result is an optical change: the lip shows more and the area under the nose looks shorter. If your philtrum is very long, or you want a permanent change, a surgical lip lift is more effective and we will tell you so. Many patients choose the non-surgical route first to see how a fuller upper lip suits them.
Who it suits
- A long-looking area between the nose and upper lip
- A thin upper lip that shows little when you smile
- Downturned mouth corners
- Wanting to test a change before considering surgery
Who should wait or choose another option
- A very long philtrum where only surgery will make a real difference
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding or an active cold sore
- Overfilled lips, which may need dissolving first

Your treatment day
- Doctor consultation. We measure your philtrum and assess whether injections can give the look you want.
- Numbing. Numbing cream for about 20 minutes.
- Product check. The sealed syringe and toxin vial are shown before use.
- Treatment. Small amounts are placed and checked as you sit up and smile.
- Review. You check the result and receive a cold pack and aftercare advice.
Aftercare
- Expect swelling, worst in the first 48 hours
- Avoid pressing on the lips and drinking through straws for a day
- Skip saunas, hard exercise and alcohol for 1–2 days
- Judge the result at 2 weeks, once swelling has gone
Possible side effects
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and usually settle within two weeks. A Botox lip flip can briefly make it harder to drink through a straw or pronounce some sounds. Rare risks include lumps, cold-sore flare-ups and blocked blood vessels.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a non-surgical lip lift cost?
It depends on how much filler and Botox you need. Send us a photo on Instagram, front and side, for an exact quote in English.
Does it really shorten the area under my nose?
It makes it look shorter by showing more lip, but it does not change the actual distance. Only surgery can do that.
How long does it last?
Filler usually lasts 6–12 months. A Botox lip flip lasts about 2–3 months, so many patients repeat it.
Does it hurt?
We use numbing cream and fillers containing lidocaine. Most patients feel pressure and brief stinging.
Can I do it on a short trip?
Yes. Allow 3–4 days before flying or an event, as swelling is most visible in the first 1–2 days.
Lip lift or lip filler?
Lip filler adds size and shape; a lip lift focuses on showing more upper lip and lifting the corners. Many patients combine both.
