What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel applies a controlled acid solution to dissolve the bonds between dead surface cells, so they shed and reveal smoother, brighter skin. Superficial peels typically take 30–45 minutes with a few days of mild flaking, and work best as a series of 3–6 sessions.
Different acids suit different skin. Glycolic acid penetrates quickly and targets dullness and fine texture. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, so it clears inside pores and suits oily, acne-prone skin. Lactic acid is gentler and more hydrating, a good choice for dry or sensitive skin.
Superficial peels act on the outer layer of the skin, so recovery is short but each session gives a modest result that builds over a series. They are not a substitute for resurfacing lasers on deep scars, and they will not lift sagging skin; for that see skin lifting.

Your treatment day
- Doctor consultation. We check skin type, medication and sensitivity and choose the acid.
- Cleansing. The skin is cleansed and degreased so the peel works evenly.
- Peel application. The acid is applied and timed; you feel tingling or warmth.
- Neutralising and calming. The peel is neutralised or removed and a calming mask is applied.
- Sun protection. We finish with moisturiser and sunscreen.
Aftercare
- Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, especially in the first weeks
- Do not pick or rub flaking skin
- Avoid retinoids, scrubs and other acids for several days
- Keep the skin moisturised and avoid saunas for 48 hours
Possible side effects
Tingling, redness, tightness and light peeling for a few days are expected. Less often, irritation, temporary darkening or a cold-sore flare can occur, especially if skin is sun-exposed or already irritated.

Frequently asked questions
Will my skin peel a lot?
With superficial peels, most patients see light flaking for 2–5 days, often barely visible. Some have no visible peeling at all, but the skin still renews.
How many peels do I need?
Usually a series of 3–6 peels about 2–4 weeks apart. One peel gives a fresher look; a series improves tone and texture more.
Can I wear make-up after a peel?
Usually from the next day, using gentle products. Avoid exfoliating products until any flaking has finished.
Is a peel safe for Asian skin?
Yes, with the right acid and strength. We start conservatively because darker skin can react with temporary pigmentation.
Can I have a peel on a short trip?
Yes, a superficial peel has little downtime. Avoid strong sun and beaches for the next few days.
Is the price the same for foreigners?
Yes. Korean and international patients pay the same price, and an English-speaking coordinator helps with booking. VAT of 10% is added at payment.
