How to Fix Rough Skin Texture in Seoul: Doctor-Led Options
Rough, bumpy or uneven texture makes skin feel coarse and catch the light badly. Our physicians find out whether build-up, scarring, pores or dehydration is the cause and plan boosters, resurfacing or laser to match.

What causes rough skin texture?
Rough skin texture is skin that feels bumpy, coarse or uneven to the touch, usually from dead-cell build-up, acne scarring, enlarged pores or dehydration. It typically improves over 3–5 sessions of resurfacing and collagen-building treatments, chosen by cause.
Smooth skin depends on steady shedding of dead cells, a healthy barrier and an even collagen layer underneath. When shedding slows, a rough layer builds up; when pores clog, small bumps form. Past acne can leave small dents and raised scars, and sun damage thickens the outer layer while thinning the collagen beneath.
Dehydration adds a papery, crinkled feel, and some people have keratosis pilaris, small rough bumps from keratin plugs. Treatment works on the surface and below it: peels and facials clear build-up, skin boosters improve hydration and repair, and fractional laser or microneedling remodels collagen where scarring or deeper texture is the problem.
Signs these treatments can help
- Skin feels bumpy or sandpapery when you touch it
- Make-up looks patchy on uneven areas
- Shallow acne scars or small dents on the cheeks
- Enlarged pores with a coarse look on the cheeks or nose
When to see a specialist first
- Many small, itchy or spreading bumps, which can be a rash or infection and need a dermatologist
- Active, inflamed acne, which should be treated first (see acne treatment)
- Thick, scaly or bleeding patches that do not heal, which need a medical skin check
Why skin feels rough
Dead-cell build-up
Slow shedding leaves a coarse, dull outer layer.
Acne scarring
Healed breakouts leave dents and uneven collagen.
Enlarged, clogged pores
Oil and debris create small bumps and a coarse look.
Dehydration and sun damage
Dry, UV-damaged skin turns papery and uneven.

How we treat rough skin texture at our clinic
- Skin analysis. The doctor checks for build-up, scars, pore size, dryness and sensitivity.
- Clear the surface. A peel or deep-cleansing facial removes build-up and unclogs pores when needed.
- Rebuild below. Juvelook Skin or Rejuran supports collagen and repair in the dermis.
- Resurface scars. Fraxel or microneedling is added for acne scars and deeper texture.
- Maintain. We plan the session interval and a simple home routine with daily sunscreen.
Aftercare
- Gentle cleanser and moisturiser for several days
- Daily sunscreen, especially after laser or peels
- Do not pick at flaking skin
- Pause retinoids and acids until advised
Possible side effects
Boosters can leave small bumps or bruises for a few days. Peels may cause flaking, and fractional laser causes redness and fine scabbing for several days. Darker skin types have a risk of temporary pigment change, which we plan around.

Frequently asked questions
How many sessions does rough texture need?
Most patients notice smoother skin after 1–2 sessions, with fuller results after 3–5 spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
Which works better, boosters or laser?
Boosters suit general roughness, dryness and fine texture; fractional laser or microneedling suits scars. Many plans combine both.
Is there downtime?
Boosters usually need a day or less. Fractional laser typically means redness and fine scabbing for several days.
Can I do this on a short trip?
Yes. A booster or peel fits a short stay. Laser is best planned with a few days before important events or flights home.
How much does it cost?
Juvelook Skin 3cc is ₩450,000 and Rejuran 2cc is ₩300,000, excluding VAT. Foreigners pay the same published price.
