What causes under eye wrinkles?
Under eye wrinkles are fine lines and creases in the thin skin below the eyes, caused mainly by collagen loss, dryness, sun damage and repeated squinting or smiling. They usually respond best to gentle collagen-building boosters, eye-area tightening and, for smile lines, small doses of Botox.
The skin under the eyes is among the thinnest on the face and has few oil glands. From the late twenties, collagen and elastin production slows, so this skin loses its bounce and starts to fold into fine lines. Sun exposure, dehydration, rubbing the eyes and smoking speed the process up, and the lines often look worse with tiredness or under bright light.
Some lines are static, visible even when your face is still, and come from thinning, crepey skin. Others are dynamic and appear only when you smile or squint, because the ring-shaped muscle around the eye folds the skin. Most patients have a mix, so treatment usually combines skin quality work with tightening, and sometimes a muscle-relaxing injection.

How we treat under eye wrinkles at our clinic
- Doctor consultation. We check skin thickness, line type and under-eye shape, and separate wrinkles from hollows or bulges.
- Choosing the approach. Boosters for thin skin, tightening for laxity, and Botox only if smile lines are the main issue.
- Numbing. Numbing cream is applied, and we use fine needles or cannulas suited to delicate skin.
- Treatment. The doctor injects small amounts in a careful pattern, or treats with an eye-safe tip.
- Follow-up plan. Boosters usually need 3 sessions; we time them around your trips and check in on Instagram.
Aftercare
- Avoid rubbing the eyes and heavy eye make-up for a day
- Sleep slightly elevated the first night to limit swelling
- Use a gentle eye cream and daily sunscreen
- Skip saunas, alcohol and hard exercise for 24–48 hours
Possible side effects

What is the best treatment for under eye wrinkles?
For most patients it is a collagen-building booster such as Eye Rejuran or Re2O Fine, sometimes combined with Eye Thermage. If lines appear only when you smile, a small Botox dose may help more. The doctor decides after seeing your skin.

Is there downtime?
Usually little: mild puffiness and small injection bumps for 1–3 days, and occasionally a bruise. Most patients go out the same day.
Can I start treatment on a short trip to Seoul?
Yes. You can have the first session during your visit and continue the course on your next trip, or choose a single-session option. Tell us your dates when you book.
Will filler fix under eye wrinkles?
Not usually. Filler fills hollows, not fine surface lines, and too much can look puffy. For wrinkles we focus on skin quality first.
